What to expect from online therapy in South Carolina

Online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, and is often a great option for clients with busy schedules and other daily demands.

Online therapy offers more flexibility, so you can fit therapy into your day more easily, instead of having to schedule extra time for commutes and traffic.

The flexibility that comes from online therapy also means you can do therapy from almost anywhere. I am licensed to provide online therapy across the state of South Carolina. So even if you live in an area without many options for therapy, or you have an illness or a physical limitation that makes getting to appointments difficult, you can still access quality care from wherever you are in South Carolina.

What to expect, and what is required for online therapy?

Online therapy is just like in-person therapy, in that the same services are offered, and you are still engaging in real, evidence-based therapy. The online video session is conducted over a HIPAA-compliant, secure video platform. Prior to your session, you receive a link, either via email or text or both. That is your secure session link to access your video session. You can use this link on a desktop, phone, or tablet. If you are on a mobile device, you may be required to download a free telehealth app.

There are a few requirements that you'll need on your end:
  • You must be in a private, confidential space where you feel safe to talk openly and engage in therapy.
  • You need a stable, fast internet connection.
  • You also need a device (whether mobile or desktop) with audio and video capabilities.
